This paper refers to the second of three intervention phases for the remodeling, adaptation to current legislation and expansion of the Home.

The air conditioning systems provided for this project, and following the principles of the first intervention in this building, are based on solutions of direct expansion of the type of variable refrigerant volume (VRF) heat pump, allowing the cooling and/or heating of these areas. This system will be based on a gas-powered internal combustion engine unit, and will also allow using part of the heat generated to preheat the ATU and support the production of DHW.

Wall- and duct-type indoor units are planned to ensure climate control in the various spaces.

Parallel to the air conditioning provided by the equipment described above, an air renewal system is envisioned to bring fresh air to the spaces and extract waste air. This system will be based on fresh air treatment units to be located on the building's roof. These units will be of the modular type, of dual flow air with heat recovery from the extracted air to the introduced air, ensuring the heating or cooling and filtering of the new air.

In the toilets, storage rooms and technical spaces and other spaces where the release of odors or vapors is expected, ventilation systems are envisioned for waste air extraction that simultaneously promotes the renewal of the air from these spaces with air from surrounding areas, consisting of fans, ductwork and extraction mouths or intake grilles present in each room.

Moreover, all protection and fire safety measures required by applicable legislation were envisioned, coordinated with the security designer.
